I have not spent enough time there. But every time Im out there people are there as well. But not sure why because even they say the dont catch anything. Might be a great place to take kids because there seems to be alot of little fish(perch,sunny's,and cats). I also heard the stories of stocking it but when and with what. When ice fishing i always mark fish but never any keepers.

What's the story with Curlew, I agree about hearing the stories about many moons ago and yes there is probably a few lunkers that still lurk in there but has anyone caught a couple keeper walleyes or crappies out of there in the past couple years. I see GFP continues to stock it.

Might be to early to tell about winter kill but Im not sure there is anything in there to kill. I have never caught anything over three inches. I have heard many stories of big fish caught there buit that was also many moons ago

Hit up waggoner lake (philip lake) north of philip today. It was very cold, overcast and windy. Caught one 2 pound pike and a tiny large mouth bass. Some people fishing by us caught one 2.5 pound pike, and another group got skunked. Defiantly not worth the long drive, but had to fish there at least once.

I went out and set up two tip-tips with smelt and didnt have a bite all afternoon. But my party caught alot of perch, some were 8-9 inches nothing huge. Caught all the perch on the east shore north of the boat ramp on minnows, caught close to 25.

fished lake wagner today ove by phillp did well got some nice perch and some nice gills and a couple nice crappies had 3 flags go off but no northern or bass was a slow day but but we did catch some fish ice was 15 inches thick tight lines
