Been out several times over the last couple of weeks. Been really slow and hit and miss on the Perch. Have found a few really nice ones though. Small Hali and red waxes in about 35-40 fow. Ice is in good shape. Roughly 16". A lot of folks been driving their pick-ups and SUVs out onto the ice.

Fished all day yesterday in the snow. Caught 8 nice perch and 2 northerns. Good day on the ice.

fished for a couple hours this afternoon and got 2 bites. ice is in good shape over a foot thick in the west bay by the day use area. alot of people out having fun.

Hi there! Wanting to take the kids fishing on Sep 17 and 18 ... sorry for posting this late but I just found out about this website so I'm hoping SOMEONE will see this and be able to help. Can anyone tell us where a good spot to go is @ Sheridan Lake? We went fishing on the south end last weekend but didn't have much luck ... would love to find a spot where the kids can have fun catching fish and the adults can catch some that we can keep. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Wore my trolling motor battery out trolling for trout along both shore from the Damn west. Boated 12, lost 4-5 at the boat and missed a half dozen more hits. Just using a CP swing and a rooster tail. Not sure how deep but the fish finder put most fish at between 10-25 feet of water. My boys (12 and 8) had most of the fun but the wife and I got in a little action as well. Caught one spec from the shore Friday night but nothing else. Rain today, didn't get back out.

Went out Sunday afternoon but on the way there my son advised he had a soccer game that afternoon so fishing time was short. Just 2 hours! Caught one nice trout by accident while trolling across the lake. No other action. We are new at boat fishing. Anyone have any hints on where to catch Perch in this lake?

I also agree with the european rudd. The marina used to have one in their fish tank, i believe that was the state record fish. these fish are also prevalent in newell lake

You red carp-abult shiners where probaly an invasive species called Eorpean Rudd. The state record has come out of Sheridan lake, but still they are an invasive species and GFP would like to see them all dead.

Fished a #12 black Wooly Bugger with bead head on 5X tippet at 4 feet below bubble bobber. Landed 12 rainbows between 15 and 18 inches. Also caught 5 red carp type fish, was told they were shiners that grew up. Suprisingly caught a crappie and smallmouth too. Went back next day, same everything and got skunked.

Stoped and talked to a fly fisherman on Sunday 4/10/11. He caught two bows on his first two cast's. While talking to him he caught two more. Nice fish around 14 inches.

Well fished this morning from about 8:30 to 10....had a lot of bites but they just weren’t taking it, so switched to smaller hook with worm and marshmallow and finally got one. Nice 14 inch rainbow….would of stayed longer but looked like rain was coming and temp felt like it was dropping. But lakes wide open….hopefully I can get the boat out there next weekend. |
