Just to start off this is a great site, lots of good information and I enjoy the funny ( BS ) that is thrown around. Im from wyoming and believe South Dakota is awsome place to hunt and fish. I try and fish Mobridge two times a year. The ice fishing is so good sometimes i hate coming back here.  I was fishing and camping over at Orman this weekend and was checked 3 time by the same game and fish personel in about 8 hours. Wondering if any of you have had this problem. I'm sorry but I think thats a little rediculous. It's not going to realy discourage me from spending time in South Dakota, I wouldn't do that to anyone from South Dakota. I know we got some great big game hunting and some good fishing, I don't believe the fishing is any thing like you have the game and fish here don't give a ($#$#) about any good fish, just them nasty trout.

I seen a license plate from Iowa this weekend while at lake Oahe, the numbers read: FISH SD. I said to my friend I was fishing with, thats great! I hope he enjoys fishing in our state, he was a really nice fellow too.

to stay on topic, I have to tell you that I have not as much as seen a Game Warden on Lake Oahe yet this year. Not on the water, not by the dock, no Wardens period.  I know their out there somewhere, I just dont know where. Thats niether here nor there for me, scince I Always obey to the letter of the law and I know the rules and regs. I would actually like to see one once in awhile to know they are keeping people honest.

I fished and messed around on the wakeboard for two days out there this weekend.  We were only checked for life jackets while wakeboarding, no checks while fishing.  The GFP personnel were out in force for sure, but I like having their presence on the lake.  Keeps the idiots under control and makes things a bit safer.  I woudl say that three times in a day is a little much IMO though.  But, I do know they have been giving a LARGE amount of tickets to guys keeping fish that are in the slot.  The last two weekends have been a unreal from what I have heard, many people trying to sneak slot fish through.  So, I am guessing they are patroling pretty hard for that.  Once again, I like it.  Keeps people straight and obeying the rules.  My .02!

On the 2nd & 3rd third time, did he just check your fish, or did he also re-check liscense and life jackets?

They checked for life jackets again, not the license or fish.
